LESS POVERTY, PERSISTENT INEQUALITY: AN APPROACH TO BRAZILIAN TRAJECTORY IN THE LIGHT OF THE EVOLUTION OF THE UNDERSTANDING OF INTERNATIONAL ORGANISMS

Poverty reduction and the minimization of inequalities have long been neglected at the international level, contributing to the consolidation of significant income distortions, notably in Latin America. This article aims to address, from the literature review and documentary research, the evolution of the international organizations positions on the subject and to assess its impact on Brazilians living conditions. It is a descriptive and explanatory research, with qualitative approach. It is inferred that there is a correlation between the modifying position of the international organizations and the adoption of national policies focusing on poverty alleviation, in which direction Brazil made much progress, especially after inflation stabilization. However, as regards to the decrease in income inequality, there is a stationary frame, which demands greater attention from thegovernment, since its actions have overall contributed to its aggravation.
